On Wednesday, Stefan and I could finally get out into the garden.
The Vermiculite had not yet arrived, but we thought it would be a great time to start removing the winter coverage and getting the beds ready for what was to follow.
The sun was out, what can I say, that is a good enough reason as any to be out in the garden!
After removing most of the coverage, we took out our planks and laid them on the ground so that we could get an image of what was to come - and because we wanted to explain what we envisioned to neighbours and in-laws - a "Hands-On" approach :)
I can't wait to get started!
Hi Natalie,
ReplyDeleteWe finally got started this week too. Planted some potatoes, and were very brave and planted strawberries and a few lettuce - then got snowed on last night. Haven't yet been out to check the state of the plants this morning. If you don't mind me asking - what altitude are you at?
Visited Yvoire yesturday with the intention of going to the Jardin des Cinq Sens but it didn't seem worth it in the pouring rain. Have you been there?
Hi Emma,
DeleteWe have an altitude of 800m. I was also raring to go and plant all my seedlings outside, but my mom-in-law said that I should maybe wait for the "Eisheilige" the spring frost that apparently will hit around the 20th May. Not sure if I, or my seedlings, can wait that long, I may just go ahead, well as soon as it finally decides to stop raining that is!
We haven't visited the Jardin Des Cinq Sens, I googled it and it looks wonderful. Let me know what you thought of it, should you manage to go :)
Have a super rest of your weekend

I feel you, I have been out myself and I was thinking about the raised bed as well but I decided against it. But I have plans for planting potted herbs. My garden is greenery and flowers so I will keep working on it. Love your blog great post.new follower.
